Every person who does inner soul work deserves a sacred space. Creating sacred space really just means making a safe space where you feel nurtured and completely safe to let go. It does not have to be a large space, a corner of a room will do or even a table located by your favourite chair. I like to start off with cleansing the space and setting an intention (You can find out more about setting intentions here). I also like to cleanse the space again once a week or month, whichever works for you. You can use candles, sage, singing bowls or essential oils whatever you prefer to use for space clearing. This process shifts the old stuck energy in the space.
You can bring in anything that feels sacred for you and anything you will need for your practice so it is always ready, this is helpful so you are ready to go when you set aside you time for soul searching, so you can use it for exactly that and not searching for your things, you will also feel a calm knowing that everything is ready for this special time you have set aside for yourself.
One wonderful effect about creating sacred space is that it actually makes it easier to sink into the experience. You will find as soon as you walk into the space and light or candle or whatever you do to prepare you space, its like your psyche knows what is happing and you can move into your inner world more easliy. overtime it will build momentum in that space and you will feel the difference the minute you arrive in the space.
Take a moment to think of where you could create a sacred space in your home?
What would you have in it for space clearing?
What sacred objects would you put in and around it?
What will you be using your sacred space for? Reading a book? Meditation? Chakradance? Restorative Yoga? Journaling? Drawing? Writing? Scrapbooking? or any other things that fill your soul.
AHHHHH, just thinking of my sacred space makes me feel more relaxed and ready to do some soul work.
Lots of Love,
